The Al-Firdaus Memorial Gardens (AFMG) was developed by the Islamic Waqf of Maryland (IWM). Al-Firdaus Memorial Gardens is the state of Maryland's first only all Muslim cemetery. The IWM is a non-profit organization, who provides management services for those who are in need of funeral services. The Islamic Waqf of Maryland is formed by three local Masjids:
Islamic Center of Maryland (ICM) Islamic Society of Frederick (ISF) Islamic Society of Western Maryland (ISWMD)
The Islamic Waqf has many projects accumulating in the future, including the start of their groundbreaking construction for the Islamic Community Center of Maryland.
